Hello! I've put together this site to let
everyone know that I'm still alive and what
I've been up to the past couple of years.
If you want to send pictures for me to put
up or if you just have some rude comments
please email me at see4@excite.com
Here is whats new.
December 07-I was on parental leave for several
months this year. We put an addition on our
house. The roof is up but we haven't insulated
yet so its kind of cold. Olivia is in kindergarten.
She can write her name and knows most of
the letters in her "boyfriend's"
name. I'll have to start keeping an eye on
her. Izzy is toilet trained and is speaking
full sentences. She is a very good big sister
to Hailey who can stand up (but not walk)
and say "Mamma, Dadda, all done, eat".
Sonia has her hands full with the girls and
overseeing construction while I'm out sailing.
February 07-Hailey was born in Victoria on
19 Oct 06. I am working on HMCS Vancouver
now. We just got back home from a one month
trip to Hawaii.
August 06-I apologize for being so delinquent
about updating this site. In the past year:
we made a road trip to Ontario and visited
as many family and friends as possible. Olivia
caught her first fish with her Papa (Grandpa
Wojtalik) in Thunder Bay. On the way home
we drove through the prairies and the north-western
United States. In Yellowstone Park we saw
the famous geyers and Olivia could identify
and differentiate between buffalo, moose,
deer, elk, and rabbit by their tracks-and
scat! Julie and I see each other every month
or so. She had a birthday party for both
of us at her place and in August she came
here and we kayaked over 27 kilometers from
Victoria in one day. I have been back to
work since January so Sonia has her hands
full during the day. Olivia and Izzy keep
her on her toes. It doesn't help that Olivia
is a good teacher and her little sister is
a good learner. Sonia and I are having one
more baby. It is due in October on Olivia's
birthday.
July 05-Hello. It is warm out here, but not
as hot as Ontario. I am on parental leave.
Olivia loves that I'm home everyday and Sonia
appreciates the help. My family just visited
for a week to see their granddaughters/nieces.
May 05-We had our baby on May 3. Here are
some PICTURES.
Jan 05-Hope everyone had a good Christmas.
It was a green xmas for us. However we did
get snow the first week of January. Almost
enough to cover the grass. We now have bulbs
poking up in the flower beds and a primrose
has already bloomed. Sonia and the baby are
doing fine. Olivia likes Bugs Bunny cartoons
and anything that is the colour blue. Squeeky
came home 5 weeks to the day he disappeared.
Except for the fact he lost half his weight
he is fine.
Dec 04-Well, Christmas is approaching. It
just isn't the same here. Everyone has the
lights up on their houses but not a snowflake
in sight. It is just too green to feel like
Christmas. There were a couple of tragedies
in the family last month. Pyscho, one of
the turtles died. He was the first of our
turtles, we got him in London in 1997. Squeeky
the cat disappeared November 21. He somehow
escaped from the house and we haven't seen
him since. We've put up posters and had an
ad in the newspaper. He has our phone number
on his collar and even though we are surrounded
by houses we haven't heard a word; it's like
he has dropped off the earth. We fear the
worst. He was four years old and we have
had him since we lived in St Thomas. On the
plus side: Olivia never ceases to amaze us.
Her vocabulary is expanding everyday and
she has amazing memory. She knows the routes
to her favourite park and to her best friend's
house. She was with me when I got an allergy
shot and the nurse gave her a candy. Three
weeks later she was with me again and she
asked the nurse for a "chocolate treat",
the same candy she had gotten on her last
visit. Sonia is pregnant! Our second baby
is due in May.
Oct 04-The leaves are now turning colour
out here. My mom came out for a visit in
the first half of September. Sonia is busy
cleaning out the gardens. She can leave some
of the plants in and they will continue to
grow throughout the winter. We had problems
with our second Pontiac Sunbird so we went
out and bought a brand new car, a Hyundai
Accent. It has a long warranty so when it
breaks it won't be my problem.
Aug 04-I'm just starting my summer vacation.
Sonia is grateful to have someone else around
to watch Olivia during the day! Olivia's
hobby is Winnie the Pooh. She has his books,
blankets, toys and one movie which she watches
over and over. We did a week-long sail around
Vancouver Island. I saw some magnificent
scenery. We went into Nootka Sound and saved
a sailboater being attacked by Luna the killer
whale. I also flew in the infamous Seaking
helicopter and survived!
May 04- I'm working on building a shed in
my backyard, Sonia has been busy in the gardens
and Olivia is just busy getting into everything.
Last month we sailed down to San Diego for
a couple of weeks. I visited a microbrewery
and looked around Tijuana, Mexico.
Feb 04- While most of you are suffering in
the cold our flowers are starting to bloom.
Jan 04- Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I'm enjoying 5 weeks of vacation before heading
back to work. We spent a couple of weeks
in Shedden, Ontario visiting the family.
Olivia didn't like the 5 hour flight too
much. She is learning to say new words everyday.
She can call two of the cats by name but
Sonia is still waiting for her to say "Mommy".
Dec 03- Hi!. I've just gotten home after
spending 6 months sailing. We were patrolling
in the Persian Gulf region. Everything is
fine at home. Olivia is alot bigger now.
Last time I saw her she was still a little
baby. Now she has long hair and walks and
talks.
May 03- I just came back from a 3 week trip.
We went to Seattle for a couple of days.
Then sailed down the coast to southern California.
We didn't stop anywhere there though. I could
see rugged land and the sun was really bright
and warm. Olivia was a lot bigger when I
got home. She can eat some foods like Cheerios
and banana pieces by herself and rolls around
all over the place.
Feb 03- I have been sailing a lot lately.
The ship is preparing for a trip to the Arabian
Sea later this year. Olivia is teething and
she just started eating her first solid foods
(cereal)
Dec 02- We are in BC. It took us 2 weeks
to drive out here. We saw most of our relatives
along the way. Olivia slept in her car seat
most of the time. Sonia is finishing the
unpacking and I've started working on the
ship.
Oct 02- Our baby was born 12 Oct 02. I made
up a BABY PAGE with her first pictures.
